Daniyal Hassan

Hey! I’m Daniyal. I build distributed systems and ship production AI that real people use every day.

Daniyal Hassan — Principal Software Engineer

Here’s a bit more detail…

I love designing, building, and scaling systems end to end: distributed backends, fault-tolerant payments, and applied AI. Over the last six years I architected a multi-tenant, multi-geo core-banking and lending platform serving ~1M users at CreditBook, and most recently took AI learning products from prototype to production at MindMax: agentic pipelines, RAG, memory, and real-time voice.

I do my best work on small, fast-moving teams where I can own outcomes end to end and iterate fast. Right now I’m a Principal Software Engineer at MindMax in Dubai, and open to remote roles.

Where I’ve worked

  • At MindMax (Principal Software Engineer, since 2025) I build and own multiple AI learning features end to end: the agentic pipelines on LangGraph (multi-step reasoning, tool calling, and real-time interruption for steerable learning agents), the RAG retrieval, re-ranking, and persistent memory that keep them grounded and personal across sessions, and the low-latency real-time voice on LiveKit for natural, conversational tutoring, just to name a few.
  • At CreditBook (Staff Engineer & Technical Lead, 2021–2025) I architected Credr, a multi-tenant, multi-geo core banking and lending platform that grew to ~1M users, along with the payment pipeline and Embedded Wallet behind it (idempotent ledgers, real-time balances, and bank-network integrations). I owned the technical direction, the data modeling, and the hard design calls, and led a team of six that built and shipped it together, staying hands-on in the code throughout.
  • At Educative (Software Engineer, 2021) I built the microservices behind the code-execution engine, test-driven and across the full stack.
  • At Hoo Controls (Software Engineer, part-time, 2021) I wrote a Linux desktop daemon in Go that orchestrated core services for smart-home devices, with a private Docker registry update protocol for atomic, rollback-safe deployments.
  • At Elixir Technologies (Software Engineer, 2019–2020) As the sole developer, I built a distributed monitoring and reporting tool for the Tango microservice suite: heartbeat-based health tracking across nodes and a system-tray GUI, in C++, Rust, and C#.
  • At Center for Advanced Research in Engineering (Software Engineer, 2019) I co-built an inventory-management system, designing the Rust and PostgreSQL backend and the Svelte frontend, with barcode generation, role-based access, and real-time dashboards.

Some of my projects

  • Vexr — “remember everything.” An AI memory assistant that lives in WhatsApp: capture and recall anything just by chatting.
  • FoodBook — a community food-review platform: discover restaurants and share reviews with photos and video, across iOS, Android, and a restaurant portal.
  • Casket — a multi-tenant car-rental management SaaS (invoicing, notifications, analytics & reporting); in production with a rental company in Pakistan.
  • Augur — live gold rates for Pakistan: trends, forecasts, and a Zakat calculator.

Skills

  • Languages — TypeScript / Node, Go, Rust, Python, C++.
  • Frameworks — React / Next, React Native, Svelte, Express, Nest, Fastify, Chi (Go).
  • AI — LangGraph & agentic systems, RAG, AI memory, real-time voice (LiveKit), embeddings & vector DBs (pgvector), evals & tracing (LangSmith / Langfuse).
  • Data — PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, MySQL, DynamoDB.
  • Infrastructure — AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD.
  • Architecture — microservices, distributed systems, event-driven, domain-driven design.

Education

  • FAST – National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences — BS Computer Science, 2017–2021. Gold Medalist, graduated Summa Cum Laude (CGPA 3.90/4.0).
  • Beaconhouse School System (BMI) — A-Levels, Physics & Computer Science, 2015–2017. Gold Medalist (perfect 4.00 GPA).
